Practice, spaced repetition and mastery

Ten-question sessions, the five modes, spaced repetition in five boxes, the mastery rule and the tutor after a mistake.

Practice, not the exam

Practice runs in sessions of ten multiple-choice questions. Every question is original, written for this prep, and works on a public statement of the Content Outline. These are not exam questions and none is reconstructed from one.

Each question has a level: Recall, Application or Judgement. After you answer, you see whether you were right, the correct answer, an explanation and, when there is one, the link to the lesson that covers the statement.

Session modes

  • Today’s review: the questions due today.
  • My mistakes: the questions you missed and have not answered correctly since.
  • Weighted mix: all domains, in proportion to their exam weight.
  • By domain: a single domain.
  • By lesson: from a lesson, the “Practice this lesson” button.

At the end of a session: your score, your success rate and the list of statements to revisit. Your answers are saved: today’s review and your mastery take them into account.

Spaced repetition

Each question moves through five boxes. A correct answer moves it up one box; a mistake sends it back to box 1. It then comes back after 1, 3, 7, 14 and then 30 days. Answering correctly before it is due does not move it up: the spacing is what counts.

The mastery rule

  • A question is mastered after two correct answers at least three days apart, with no mistake since.
  • A statement is mastered when 80% of its questions are.

The Practice page shows your overall mastery (worked out over the domains that have published questions), the number of questions mastered and already seen, and the mastery of each domain.

During a session

  • Keyboard: keys 1 to 4 to choose, Enter to submit.
  • A question about a practice item? The “A question about this one?” link sends it to the coach with its context. See Questions, calls and announcements.
  • While a mock exam is open, the questions drawn for it are kept out of practice, so that no answer leaks.

The tutor, after a mistake

After a wrong answer, the “Understand it with the tutor” button opens a conversation with an AI tutor. It asks you questions to help you understand your mistake, drawing only on our lessons, and gives the explanation after a few exchanges or as soon as you ask for it.

  • To start, you tick a consent box: your messages are sent to Anthropic (United States), the AI model provider. Include no personal data.
  • A conversation allows 8 messages from you at most, and a daily cap applies.
  • If our lessons do not cover the statement yet, the tutor says so and suggests you ask your coach.
  • The tutor grades nothing: it changes neither your mastery nor your reviews.
  • A conversation is kept for 90 days, then deleted. You choose which ones your coach can read, and you can delete them, from “My conversations with the tutor”.
