Assignments and coach review

The assignments to submit, accepted formats and their limits, self-review first, timestamped video review and the judgment index.

The idea

A concept is only mastered once you can apply it: in class, on yourself and in your programming. Each assignment is a task to carry out and then submit; Matthieu reviews every submission.

As of 22 October 2026, the prep has 23 assignments, 12 of them required; the others are recommended. Each one shows its context (In class, On yourself, In programming), its estimated time, its success criteria, what to submit, an alternative if you cannot do it as written, and the statements it covers.

The 12 required assignments are a condition for requesting validation.

What you can submit

Depending on the assignment:

  • a text;
  • a file: PDF, JPEG, PNG or WebP, 50 MB at most;
  • one or more videos: YouTube links set to “Unlisted”, 4 links at most. Only YouTube links are accepted; the video stays on YouTube.

Your account can store 40 files at most. Beyond that, write to Matthieu.

Before sending, you confirm that the people who appear (or their legal guardian for a minor) have agreed to be filmed or photographed and to the video being shared through an unlisted link, and that documents are anonymised.

Self-review first

For a video submission, you first score your own video with the L’Atelier rubric: seven criteria, namely the six of the Level 2 guide (Teaching, Seeing, Correcting, Group Management, Presence and Attitude, Demonstration) plus Class Structure, L’Atelier’s own. Each one is scored from Not observed to 4, with evidence for every score: a moment in the video and an observation. Matthieu then scores without seeing your rubric.

The coach’s feedback

  • Once sent, the state becomes Submitted: feedback is due within 3 working days.
  • The coach replies with written feedback, a priority and his rubric; the assignment becomes Approved (it is then closed) or Redo. You get an e-mail.
  • On a video, he can add timestamped markers (Strength, To fix, Cue), criterion by criterion: clicking a time jumps the video to that moment.
  • A new submission is only possible if nothing is pending or approved for that assignment.

AI pre-review, only with your agreement. On the Assignments page, you can agree (or not) that your coach asks an AI (Anthropic, United States) for draft feedback on your submissions: the text and the PDF are sent, never your videos, your images or your name. Your coach reads it, edits it and makes the decision alone. You can withdraw your agreement at any time.

The judgment index

The judgment index measures how closely your view matches the coach’s: on each criterion, the gap between your self-review score and his. It appears after two reviewed video submissions for which you filled in your rubric first, out of 100 (100: you both see the same thing). It measures how accurately you see, not your level, and does not predict your exam result.

Before / after

The Before / after page compares two of your video submissions side by side. The videos stay on YouTube: nothing is copied or stored.
