What you need to use the platform, phone and keyboard use, the language of your preparation and the display time zone.

What you need

  • An up-to-date web browser, on a computer, tablet or phone. The platform runs in the browser: there is no app to install.
  • An e-mail address you check: sign-in works through a link sent by e-mail.
  • Cookies allowed for the site: they keep your session open.
  • For video submissions: a YouTube account, to publish your videos as “Unlisted” and paste the link. See Assignments.

On a phone

If you follow only the CCFT Prep, a bar at the bottom of the screen gives access to the four main pages (CCFT Prep, Path, Practice, Assignments); everything else is under More. If you also follow the 12-week programme, the prep has its own navigation bar at the top of the CCFT pages.

Keyboard and screen readers

  • During a practice session, keys 1 to 4 choose an answer and Enter submits.
  • The timers of the mock exam and of See & correct are announced to screen readers at a few key moments, not every second.

Internet connection

  • Practice: if an answer could not be sent, a message tells you; check your connection, then submit again.
  • Mock exam: if the connection drops, your answers are kept on the device and sent as soon as the network is back. The clock, however, keeps running on the server.

Language of the preparation

  • You choose French or English on the welcome screen. The choice applies to the interface and to the content: lessons, reading cards, practice, assignments and mock-exam questions.
  • The official Content Outline statements are quoted in English in both languages, to stay true to the reference text.
  • The glossary gives each term in French, English and Dutch.
  • To change language during your preparation, ask your coach.
  • The sign-in screen is available in French and English, with its own language choice: see Access and sign-in.
  • Still in French only for now: part of the profile (the profile form and the “Mes données” section).
  • The platform’s privacy policy exists in French and English.

Time zone

  • Dates and times are shown in your time zone. On your first visit, the platform takes your device’s; if it is unknown, it uses UTC.
  • To change it: Profile, Display section, Time zone field. A button also offers the time zone of the device you are using.
  • The platform’s e-mails use the same time zone.
  • Film room sessions are shown in your time zone and can be added to your calendar with an .ics file.
